The inaugural National MTB Cup Series is just 4 1/2 weeks from getting under way with a host of new and exciting events being held, and with online entries available for the first time, entry couldn’t be easier!
MTBNZ in conjunction with BikeNZ are delighted to bring to you the NZCT National Mountain Bike Island Cup Series, the National Championships and the Oceania Championships – with 14 events all over the country this summer, there’s bound to be one on your doorstep!
The Cup series will comprise the South Island Downhill Cup, North Island Downhill Cup, South Island Cross Country Cup and North Island Cross Country Cup. Each will have 3 rounds with overall cup winners being announced at the end of the final round. Once you’ve conquered your regional Cup, it’s time to head to the Nationals in Wellington to contest the National Champions title.
The Oceania Championships in Nelson will not only feature NZ’s top riders, but also some of the top riders from Australia so come ride on the same track and test yourself against the best!
All events are open to the competitive, and not as competitive riders with two main categories, age group and elite. Anyone aged 12 or over can enter and all age group categories are open to licensed and unlicensed riders. To be eligible for the elite category, you must hold a national license and be approved by MTBNZ.
The courses have been specifically designed for you the rider to make the call on how hard you want to push yourself, soak up the sights of the most scenic spots in Aoteoroa or go as hard as you can against the best riders in the country. The choice is yours!

The 2008 NZCT National Mountain Bike Championships will be held in Wellington from Thursday 21st February to Sunday 24th February.
2008 NZCT Oceania Championships
The 2008 NZCT Oceania Mountain Bike Championships will be held in Nelson from Thursday 13th March to Sunday 16th March.
